Last night we went to see Robbie Williams at the Milton Keynes Bowl. Not really my usual choice of entertainment but, as we were very kindly asked, we thought it would be an experience and a good show. It was – lots of rather spectacular effects, thousands of people and some easy music. The problem was that he came across as a bit of a seedy, posturing prat. Pity.
There was a very odd interlude where his best friend (a fellow called Johnny Wilkes)appeared – presumably to give Robbie his sychophancy hit – to sing Me and My Shadow and to indulge in a very odd Morecambe and Wise double act. They were then joined by Ant and Dec which made it even more surreal. Ant and Dec are very small.
One of the guitarists looked just like Bernie Ecclestone.
I am listening to Marrakesh Express by Crosby, Stills and Nash. The picture is of Zauschneria californica
